Concert Performance Aquaaerobika
"Aquaaerobika" is a project synthesizing artistic performance and electronic music. It was founded by Sasha Frolova, Moscow artist and a student of Andrey Bartenev. In the show, she appears as an animated-style image of a silicone blonde, a universal superwoman of the future with ultra-abilities. The plot of the show is an endless computer game, in which the main character travels through parallel worlds of the future and talks about her feelings, dreams, love and hope of finding it. Electro-pop, 8bit, disco-house and avant-garde, sometimes quite abstract texts are mixed with a vivid spectacular performance based on postmodernist images. Music for the project is composed by Kenmee, Tolik Tyler, Poko и Yura Kurokhtin, band The Myriads. Sasha Frolova is an ideologist, soloist, and also author of the text and visual conception. Several songs were composed in co-production with Gosha Rubchinskym, and the background of Japanese song is Andrey Bartenev’s text, that was translated into Japanese by Sasha Frolova. There's no things specifically Russian about Sasha Frolova's performances – instead, certain analogies with the Japanese anime or Takashi Murakami's images arise. However, it was "Aquaaerobika" that presented contemporary music at the "Russian Winter 2008" festival in London.
